Children's Policy

1. Age floor
Scribbla is offered to users aged 16 and over. Accounts for users under 16 are not permitted. If we discover an under-16 account we will close it and erase the data, except where we are required by law to retain a minimum record (e.g. a safeguarding referral).
2. 16–17 parental supervision
Users aged 16–17 may sign up only if a parent or legal guardian reviews these terms and confirms consent. At sign-up we ask for the guardian's email address and send them a one-click confirmation link. Until that link is confirmed, the 16–17 account can sign in and explore but cannot publish stories or make purchases.
3. Capturing consent
Consent is recorded against the account in our parental-consents log, including the guardian email, the timestamp, the IP address from which it was confirmed, and the SHA-256 hash of the confirmation token. Records are retained for 6 years from the end of the relevant child's account, in line with our wider safeguarding and tax record-keeping duties.
4. Withdrawing consent
A guardian can withdraw consent at any time by emailing admin@scribbla.com from the address that confirmed consent, with the account email in the message. On withdrawal we suspend publishing and purchase features and notify the account holder. The account holder can request download or deletion of their data via the Account page in the normal way.
5. No service to under-13s
Scribbla is never offered to children under 13, in any country, and we do not knowingly process the personal data of under-13s. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us immediately at admin@scribbla.com and we will act on the same business day.
6. Safeguarding signals
Where AI conversations or published content surface credible signals of self-harm or risk to a child, we may surface in-platform safety prompts and signpost relevant helplines. Where we have reason to believe a child is in immediate danger, we may contact appropriate authorities. See our Acceptable Use Policy.
